XLCR Development introduces it’s latest experiment in software and hardware, web portal managed Smart Displays for retail, restaurant and bar, fitness and training, personal development, news, and even household or office management.
“Smart” displays (and mirrors) as well as other devices are not new technology but their usefulness remains untapped in many industries and even in the home. Using small single board computers and open source software we can create a device to improve organization, promote sales and events, show specials and present relevant interesting data in useful ways.
Use Case: Restaurant / Bar
- Logo and Restaurant Info (hours, address, phone, email)
- Slideshows of specials/features and all food and drink items.
- Display social media feeds
- Show upcoming restaurant and local events / attractions / partner businesses
- Calendar Integration
- Entertainment Schedules: Musician, Trivia, etc schedules with info on them.
- Coupons: Scan a QR code to receive a discount, $1 off first draft or house wine, $5 off first meal, 10th beer is free.
- Leader boards for best tipped server / bartender, most ordered item (beer, wine, entree, appetizer, dessert) … this would require integrations with compatible POS systems.
To track the effectiveness of the display QR codes will be added to displays to gather info on clientele and offer them discounts for sharing their info.
The hardware for the device is small and easily attached to the back of any display and will plug into any TV with an HDMI input. Once configured to connect to the restaurants wifi (or ethernet) it can be managed from any device on the network via a web based interface.
